🇵🇰 Pakistan Dominate Kuwait to Lift Hong Kong Sixes 2025 Trophy

MONG KOK: Team Pakistan delivered a breathtaking performance at Mission Road Ground, crushing Kuwait by 44 runs to clinch the Hong Kong Sixes 2025 championship on Sunday.

Electing to bat first, Pakistan unleashed a batting storm, piling up a massive 135 runs for just 3 wickets in six overs — a record-breaking total in the tournament’s history.

Captain Abbas Afridi led from the front with a jaw-dropping knock of 52 runs off just 11 balls, hammering seven huge sixes before retiring hurt due to injury. His power-hitting set the tone for a commanding final.

Abdul Samad added fuel to the fire with an explosive 42 off 13 balls, while Khawaja Nafay smashed a quick 22 from six deliveries, ensuring Pakistan’s top order completely dismantled Kuwait’s bowling attack.

Despite Meet Bhavsar’s heroic effort with the ball — claiming three crucial wickets — Kuwait’s bowlers struggled to contain Pakistan’s relentless aggression, as the green shirts ended with an incredible run rate of 22.5 per over.

Chasing 136, Kuwait showed resilience but couldn’t keep up with the pace, managing 92 runs in five overs. Bhavsar remained unbeaten on 33, while Adnan Idrees added 30 runs in a losing cause.

For Pakistan, Maaz Sadaqat stood out with the ball, grabbing 3 wickets for 29 runs, while Abbas Afridi and Muhammad Shahzad took a wicket each to seal the deal.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan pulled off a thrilling one-run victory over Australia in the semi-final. Khawaja Nafay was the hero, blasting a rapid 50 off 14 balls to post a strong total of 121 for 2. Pakistan’s bowlers held their nerve in the final moments, securing the win and booking their spot in the grand finale.

With this emphatic triumph, Pakistan reaffirmed their dominance in the world of six-a-side cricket, leaving fans ecstatic and proud of their champions. 🏆💚
